Data Storage - Save all your important data.

Data as defined above is stored information which is some use to the end user. This information is used at many places in organizations. This data also has varied uses in other institutions like schools, universities, colleges etc. This data hence needs to be stored securely.

One of the major problems affecting data is its storage. Data can be in the physical as well as in the electronic form. Physical data is not very easy to store and hence electronic data is preferred over physical data. Backups of data are often required to keep the data safe and secure. Backups of data are copies of data. Backups enable a person to store copies of his data at many offsite locations and hence save precious time otherwise ruined in retrieving the data in case of a data loss. There are many forms of taking a backup of the data. Internet backup is one such form. Internet backup enables a person to back up a certain hard disk without being at the actual site f the computer. The user can log on to the computer through the internet. The user then can be granted access to the various files to be backed up. These files can then be copied by the user over an offsite computer hard disk through the means of the internet and can be backed up.

Backup Exec

Linux open source operating system has been on the forefront of the operating system scene. Linux has been known for the security it provides to its users. It is natural then that Linux backup software is preferred by Linux users all over the world. Linux backup software, as the name reveals, is made by Linux. It has been specially made for computers running Linux as their operating system. Linux operating software is subject to some limitations which can lead to data losses. Linux backup software is used to conduct the backup of data on such computers so that work may not be hindered in case of a major data loss.

A person who conducts the process of backing up the files of a computer is known as a backup executive. He is also known as the backup exec. The user is responsible for back up of all data present and is mainly the only person who is of some use during data losses. Another form of backup is the smb backup. This form of backup is catching up in recent times.
